SKYLA - APPROX. 4 YEARS OLD - BULL TERRIER

Welfare are looking for an extra special person for Skyla who has been with us for a very long time.

Skyla had previously lived with a family who had children, her previous family had “inherited“ her and she had arrived to their home with some issues that they were unable to work with. A decision was made to remove Skyla from the home as safety for the children. It took many months for the family to sign her into our Welfare as they were very reluctant but this has now been done.

During this time Welfare have put in a lot of time training her and have seen a great improvement in Skyla’s behaviour. We now feel she is ready for the next step and are appealing for a person or persons who are willing to work along side Welfare to achieve a great outcome for her future.

Skyla is fully vaccinated and now spayed. She is in good health with no skin issues. She is white with red ears, a pretty not overly big girl. Skyla has now gained weight and enjoys her food. She has not shown signs of chewing. She still has the odd toilet mistake.

Skyla shows no fear around other dogs and did live with another dog who was a large cross breed. It is possible she could with correct and slow introduction live with a calm castrated male. Welfare feels it would be best if no small children lived in the home and if there are visiting small children, we advise she is supervised at all times. She is fearful around children. Occasionally she will run and hide if there are children who are visiting the home she is currently living in arrive.

Skyla is very weary with people at first and while she has never bite anyone during her time in Welfare it is felt if she was cornered she could possibly lash out. Avoidance is key with her.

Skyla has to come toward humans not the other way around. She has poor recall. She will now walk calm and happily on a lead without pulling. She travels very well in a car. She is not suitable to live with small furies and not cats.

Skyla was a great favourite when she spent time at the vets for recent spaying. Staff said she presented no concerns at all and was happy to be handled by the vet and staff who are experienced with the breed. Some times Skyla shows fear and on others times she doesn’t. If she backs away from humans the best way found to deal with this is to simply walk away and this action works well for Skyla who will follow. A slip lead and a pocket of treats works well with her.

Anyone who feels they have the time and patience and are willing to work along side Welfare - please apply for her.

Homes and applicants will be screened as with all our Welfare dogs.

ROSA - 3 YEARS OLD - BULL TERRIER

Rosa is a pretty dark brindle, 2 year old girl looking for her forever home. Rosa's ongoing training is still required with pulling on the lead and showing far too much interest in other dogs business. This is a result of living with other dogs and all fighting for top spot. Her owners gave Rosa up as a last resort.

Rosa will jump up and become very excitable and this can, if not controlled lead to nipping of clothes, however since being in Welfare and recieving consistent training, Rosa is realising that this behaviour is not acceptable and she is responding well and looking for forgiveness.

Rosa shows no aggression toward people, and she could live with older chidren who are dog savvy. Rosa loves to play, and she just wants to please. A person/family with breed experience are a must for Rosa, who will in time respond to become a much valued family dog with guidelines and continued support from the Welfare Trust. Rosa is spayed and all vaccines up to date. She has shown no interest in chewing up to yet and she is crate trained. Rosa is healthy and enjoys a dry biscuit and meat diet.

If you feel you are the right person to continue with training with Welfare support, please apply.

JEFFERS - 14 MONTHS OLD - MINIATURE BULL TERRIER

Meet this little pocket rocket Jeffers, who was reluctantly signed over to Welfare recently.

Jeffers is a handsome Tri Coloured Miniature Bull Terrier with the sweetest nature, he loves everyone and has shown no signs of being dog reactive, however Welfare feel sure if he was pushed he would probably defend himself. It is possible he could live with a calm female as he was recently castrated.

Jeffers is fully vaccinated and wormed up to date. He loves his food and short walks. He can be giddy but he is only 14 months old. House training is a bit hit and miss but he is intelligent and wants to please, Welfare feel this will soon be mastered. Jeffers can be a chewer so be aware of this. Jeffers favourite spot is laying on his back on your knee legs apart (he has no shame!)

AXCELL - 3 YEARS OLD - BULL TERRIER

Meet Axcell, he is 3 years old.

A lovely black brindle and white boy. Axcell only recently arrived into Welfare and had to receive immediate veterinary treatment for extra teeth growing in the back of his mouth, causing a build up of food in between (you can only just imagine the odour!), but now after his dental and castration, booster vaccination and worming - this sweet natured, sweet smelling lads future looks bright.

Axcell had previously lived in a family home with younger children. Up to yet, he has shown no bad reaction around other dogs. He was given up by his previous owner due to family breakdown.

Axcell is spotlessly clean in the house and has not been know to be a chewer. He pulls a little on the lead and this needs some extra work, however he appears to be a sensitive lad who only wishes to make everyone happy.

He is enjoying a change of diet of raw food and a good quality dry biscuit in just a few days his coat is shining!

Axcell is crate trained. He’s a master at opening doors! He loves the family lifestyle.

He will be available soon. He won’t be in Welfare for very long, his sort never is.

FRANKIE - 15 MONTHS OLD - BULL TERRIER

Introducing the lovely Frankie, who through no fault of her own finds herself looking for her forever home. This was a reluctant decision made by her previous owner who unfortunately is very ill and was concerned Frankie’s needs were not being met .

Frankie is 15 month old, she previously lived with 2 small dogs but she decided she preferred to have her own space. She has lived happily with a cat. Frankie is house trained and enjoys her raw meat and biscuit diet. She is gentle on the lead, and is very loving. Frankie will be available in a few weeks after she has been spayed and received her booster vaccinations.
